New Delhi: At least 30 people, including women and children, were killed in a reported airstrike conducted by the Pakistani air force in Afghanistan's Khost province on Friday night.
According to reports, Pakistani planes targeted areas in the Spurra district of Khost province.
Eyewitnesses told TOLO News that Pakistan aircrafts targeted the Shiltan area in Kunar and an area in Sperai district of Khost in which civilians suffered casualties.
The Pakistani government and the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs so far have not commented on the matter.
Local officials in Kunar so far have not commented on the matter, but a spokesman for Khost security department confirmed the attacks to TOLOnews, though he did not provide details about civilian casualties.
Pakistani aircraft also targeted Waziristan migrants' camp in Khost, leaving at least 30 people either killed or wounded. Meanwhile, eyewitnesses in Kunar confirmed the death of five people in an airstrike by Pakistani forces in the province.
"Media reports, as well as interviews with a number of eyewitnesses, show that Pakistani forces have carried out airstrikes in two areas in the eastern Kunar and the southeastern Khost provinces of Afghanistan on Friday night," Tolo News tweeted.
Some reports also state that Pakistani troops clashed with Taliban forces in the area of Masterbel, in the Gorbz district of Afghanistan on Friday.
