Mother, 6-Month-Old Baby Among 6 Shot Dead In California, Search On For 2 Suspects

Six people including a 17-year-old mother and her six-month-old baby were killed in yet another mass shooting that rocked the US and this time the town of Goshen in California. This comes as the country is witnessing a spike in cases of gun violence. The authorities are now looking for at least two suspects in the case.
The shooting took place early morning On Monday (US time) at a home in central California, the Guardian quoted the sheriff's officials as saying. They also said there are at least two suspects and efforts are on to nab them.
Officials said multiple shots were fired at the resident at aroudn 2:30 am. "Actually the report was that an active shooter was in the area because of the number of shots that were being fired,” sheriff Mike Boudreaux told media.
Two victims were found in the street and another was shot dead at the doorway while three victims were found inside the home. One person died later at the hospital.
According to reports, the shooting is apparently gang-related and a narcotics-related search was conducted at the house last week. “We also believe this was not a random act of violence. We believe this was a targeted family,” Boudreaux told the Guardian.

A man shot dead seven members of his family before killing himself in Enoch city in Utah, United States. The dead include the man, his wife, their five children, and his mother-in-law.
The shooting has left the community in shock, reported BBC.
Police found the body of eight people in the house on Wednesday night that sent shockwaves across the town of 8000 people, BBC reported citing Enoch city manager Rob Dotson.
The man has been identified as 42-year-old insurance salesman Michael Haight, who open fired on his wife, 40-year-old Tausha, his 78-year-old mother-in-law Gail Earl, and his five children before he killed himself, BBC report mentioned city officials as saying.
The five children include three girls aged 17, 12 and 7 years, and two boys, 7 and 4 years old. The names of the children have not been made public.
City manager Rob Dotson said that their bodies were discovered by police on Wednesday, after someone reported that the wife had missed a scheduled appointment, prompting a welfare check on the family's home.
Dotson said that each of the victims appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound. The officials also confirmed that the wife had filed for divorce on 21 December.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox tweeted his condolences for those affected by the "senseless violence".
