NEW DELHI: In a dramatic turn of events, Georgian boxer Levan Shonia took his frustrations out on his coach after getting defeated by Bulgaria’s Spas Genov on the undercard of the Kubrat Pulev versus Hughie Fury bout.

Shonia suffered the 12th defeat of his career against the unbeaten Genov and was standing in his corner with his coach on the ring apron. Before the official decision was to be announced, Shonia appeared to challenge his rival to one more round of boxing. When the referee intervened, he lashed out at his trainer before throwing his left hand in frustration at him.

The trainer held onto the ropes to prevent himself from falling off as the boxer kept on throwing his hands at him. After noticing the altercation, the referee rushed over to step in.
