New Delhi: Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump took to the stage on Sunday night to begin their second presidential debate. The presidential candidates entered the gladiator pit without a handshake unlike their first debate, CNN reported.
1. Moderator Meghan Keneally of ABC News along with CNN's Anderson Cooper, opened the 90-minute debate at the Washington University in the US with the first question coming from a teacher to Clinton
2. The first question was if Clinton is modelling appropriate and positive behaviour for young people. "It is very important for us to make clear to our children that our country really is great," Clinton answered
3. She added that she wants Americans "to respect one another" and "lift each other up" as well as look for ways to celebrate our diversity."We are going to respect one another, lift each other up. I will work for every American. I want to heal our country and bring it together," she said.
4.CNN journalist asked Trump about the sex boast tape to which the New York billionaire responded: "This was locker-room talk. I am certainly not proud of it." "I've said things that I was embarrassed by it. I have tremendous respect for women and women have tremendous respect for me," he added.

5. Trump dismissed Cooper's assertion that he bragged about sexual assault in the 2005 leaked tape in which he made lewd comments about women. He said: "No I didn't say that at all. I apologised to my family. I apologised to the American people. Certainly I'm not proud of it.
6.Hillary also slammed Trump over his video, saying “It represents exactly who he is”
