Elon Musk on Friday announced that Linda Yaccarino, the advertising head at NBCUniversal, will assume the role of CEO at Twitter. "I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter! @LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology. Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app," Musk tweeted.

Earlier, Musk had stated that he will now take over the role of Twitter's executive chair and CTO, and will oversee product, software, and system operations.

Yaccarino, with a remarkable tenure of more than a decade at NBCUniversal, has been a prominent proponent of identifying enhanced techniques for gauging the efficacy of advertising. In NBCU's advertising sales division, she was an essential contributor to the triumph of Peacock, the company's streaming service that is supported by ads, as a leader.

She obtained her education at Penn State University, majoring in liberal arts and telecommunications.

Yaccarino spent 19 years at Turner Entertainment, where she was instrumental in modernising the network's advertising sales operations to align with the digital landscape.

According to a Business Insider report, it is noteworthy that she has consistently been a advocate of Musk and has voiced her belief that he deserves adequate time to rectify any issues at the microblogging platform.  He also reportedly confided in her friends that she wanted to become the CEO of Twitter.

During a recent advertising conference in Miami, Yaccarino conducted an interview with Elon Musk. At the event, she encouraged the audience to greet Musk with applause and praised his dedication and work ethic.
