The US National Security Council’s coordinator for Indo-Pacific affairs, Kurt Campbell said that the safety and security of diplomats is taken "very seriously". The statement from the top White House official comes after the Indian Consulate in San Francisco was attacked by alleged Khalistani sympathisers. Terming the attack "deeply regrettable" Campbell said, "We are trying to take necessary steps to ensure that Indian diplomatic community feels safe & secure here and will continue with their work."
"These are deeply regrettable events. We take very seriously the safety and security of diplomats that are living in the US. We have been in close contact with the Indian authorities, local law enforcement. We are trying to take necessary steps to ensure that Indian diplomatic community feels safe & secure here and will continue with their work," Campbell said, as quoted by the news agency ANI.
Kurt Campbell has said that the China dimension is important to both India and the United States but it is not enough to take the two countries to where they want to go in this relationship. Speaking further on the bilateral relationship between the two nations, Campbell said There are many other elements that have driven us forward.

The White House offiial said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the United States was historic and the two nations took the bilateral relationship to the next level. Further speaking on PM Modi's visit, Campbell said that it is the most important relationship on the planet.
"...an absolutely historic visit of PM Modi to the US. I think, we together, successfully took this critical bilateral relationship to the next level. For me, it's the most important bilateral relationship on the planet and it has clearly ascended to the top layer," Campbell said, as quoted by ANI.
