New Delhi: The East African country of Kenya inducted 100 Made-In-India Mahindra Scorpio Getaway Pick-up trucks in the fleet of the Nairobi Police. Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra shared a tweet by the Simba Corp and said that he was delighted to be part of the Police Service Team.
“Nairobi, Kenya. We’re delighted to be a part of the Police Service team. The ‘Beast’ under the bonnet of the Scorpio is at their service!” read Anand Mahindra’s tweet.
The single cab Mahindra Scorpio pick-up truck is equipped with a 2.2 litre-turbo-diesel mHawk diesel engine with a six-speed transmission. The engine comes with a 140 PS at 3,750 rpm and has a torque of 320 Nm between 1,500 to 2,000 rpm.
The images posted by the Simba Corps show the Mahindra Scorpio pick-up trucks lined in a row painted in police colour of deep blue with red and yellow stripes running on both sides. The driver’s cabin has been painted white while the loading deck has been equipped with a retractable soft cover.

Mahindra has become the first automobile manufacturer to lease vehicles to any government service in Kenya. "We're delighted with the acquisition of a new fleet of vehicles. Mahindra is a sturdy vehicle and we look forward to serving the nation in these vehicles," said David Njagi, Chief Transport Officer, National Police Service.
