New Delhi: Pakistani troops opened unprovoked firing at the Indian troops along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday in yet another ceasefire violation.

The forces on both sides traded fire along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistani troops targeted forward posts at the Digwar sector, agencies reported.

"They used small arms and automatics to target Indian positions. Our troops retaliated strongly and effectively. No casualty or damage was reported on our side," IANS reported.

Indian troops guarding the LoC retaliated and the exchange of fire between the two sides continued for over an hour.

There was no immediate report of any casualty in the firing in Digwar sector.

The firing was started by Pakistani troops, who targeted forward posts by using small arms, around 0830 hours.
