Israel News: A terror attack at Beersheba's central bus station resulted in one death and nine injuries. The attacker, Ahmad al-Uqbi, was identified and has a criminal record.

Israel News: One person has died and at least nine others have been injured following a terror attack at Beersheba’s central bus station in southern Israel on Sunday. First responders confirmed that a critically wounded young woman succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. Purported visuals of the attack surfaced on social media. In one of the videos, a man's body, presumably the assailant, could be seen lying in a pool of blood.

The Magen David Adom (MDA) ambulance service reported treating a total of 11 individuals wounded in the attack, including a 25-year-old woman who later died from her injuries. Among those taken to Soroka Hospital were a woman in her twenties in moderate-to-serious condition and four men in their twenties suffering from moderate injuries, all of whom sustained gunshot wounds. Additionally, five others were reported in good condition, having been injured by glass shards or blunt trauma, while three others received treatment for acute anxiety, as reported by The Times of Israel.

Israel: Assailant Behind Terror Attack At Beersheba’s Central Bus Station Identified

Israeli defence authorities identified the assailant as Ahmad al-Uqbi, a 29-year-old resident of a Bedouin hamlet near the town of Lakiya. Al-Uqbi, who holds Israeli citizenship, reportedly has a criminal record. Unconfirmed Hebrew media reports suggest a familial connection to Muhanad Alukabi, who was responsible for a similar shooting attack at the same bus station in October 2015, which resulted in one soldier's death and the fatal shooting of an Eritrean national mistaken for an attacker, according to The Times of Israel.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, exploring whether it involved both stabbing and gunfire. The attack has been classified as a terror act by the police, with large forces deployed at the scene.

"We provided initial treatment at the scene to a young woman who was seriously injured and was later transported to the hospital," stated a representative from United Hatzalah. "We treated another woman who was in critical condition and four people who were moderately and lightly to moderately injured. In addition, we assisted several people who suffered from emotional shock due to the nature of the incident," the representative added, as reported by the Jerusalem Post.
