The Israel Defence Forces has released a new video giving reasons for its deep strikes inside Lebanon alleging Hezbollah of hiding weapons in populated areas. The claims by Israel came as it has been raining down bombs in Lebanon targetting Hezbollah locations since September 23 killing more than 700 people, including women and children.

In the video, IDF said that armed militant groups have been hiding weapons inside Lebanese homes.

"For the last 20 years, Hezbollah built its terror network within population centres in Lebanon - primarily throughout southern Lebanon, an area that they turned almost entirely into a launch pad to attack Israel," the IDF said in the video posted on X.

"Hezbollah doesn't want you to watch this video. And they really don't want you to share it," it said.

"The IDF has launched a defensive operation against the Hezbollah terror organisation by conducting precise intelligence-based strikes on hundreds of Hezbollah targets. Our goal is to thwart imminent attacks planned by Hezbollah who intended to use the very weapons that we destroyed - at Israeli homes," said the Israeli military.

"Our goal is to make sure that Israeli families can safely and securely return to their homes," it added.

On Thursday, Israel rejected a push led by the United States for a 21-day ceasefire in Lebanon as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the military to continue fighting with "full force".

The US, UK, EU, and the allies called for a temporary ceasefire in Lebanon on Thursday. The 12-strong bloc proposed an immediate 21-day pause in fighting "to provide space for diplomacy towards the conclusion of a diplomatic settlement" and a ceasefire in Gaza.
