US President Joe Biden on Friday said that Palestinian militant group Hamas is worse than al-Qaeda, adding that it has killed more than 1,000 innocent civilians in its attack so far. He said that Hamas militants’ actions make look al-Qaeda "pure". Biden said that addressing humanitarian crisis in Gaza is a priority for him.

"We're making sure Israel has what it needs to defend itself and respond to these attacks. It's also a priority for me to urgently address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza," he said, as quoted by PTI.

"The more we learned about the attack, the more horrifying it becomes. More than 1,000 innocent lives lost, including at least 27 Americans," Biden said in Philadelphia.

"These guys make -- they make al-Qaeda look pure. They're pure evil. Like I said from the beginning, the United States, make no mistake about it, stands with Israel. The United States stands with Israel," he added.

"Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Israel yesterday, and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is there today," the President said.

He said that his teams are working in the region, including communicating directly with the governments of Israel, Egypt, Jordan and other Arab nations, and the UN to increase support and humanitarian consequences for Hamas attack to help Israel.

"We can't lose sight of the fact that the overwhelming majority of Palestinians had nothing to do with Hamas and Hamas's appalling attacks, and their suffering as a result, as well. This morning, I spoke with the family members of all those Americans who are still unaccounted for, on a Zoom call, for about an hour and 10, 15 minutes," he said.

"They're going through agony not knowing what the status of their sons, daughters, husbands, wives, children are. You know, it's gut wrenching. I assured them my personal commitment to do everything possible -- everything possible to return every missing American to their families," the US President added, as per PTI.

He further said, "We're working round the clock to secure the release of Americans held by Hamas, in close cooperation with Israel and our partners around the region, and we're not going to stop till we bring them home".

Hamas’ attack has killed more than 1,300 people in Israel while Israel’s counter-action has killed over 1,530 people in Gaza. Israel has also claimed that nearly 1,500 Hamas militants were killed inside Israel.

US Congressmen Say Hamas' Attack Most Murderous Assault On Jews Since Holocaust

US lawmakers have said that the brutal attacks by Hamas are the most murderous assault on the Jews since the Holocaust in Europe.

"The terrorist attacks in Israel committed by Hamas against Israeli civilians over the last week are the most sweeping, murderous assault on Jews that have taken place since the Holocaust in Europe," Congressman Jamie Raskin told a group of Indian-Americans at an event organised by the Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS), as reported by PTI.

He said, "Hamas does not speak for the Palestinian people and the Palestinian people are not responsible for the crimes of Hamas."

"We need to ruthlessly pursue and destroy Hamas and everybody who is part of it. At the same time, we respect the laws of war. As President Joe Biden has said, civilian life in the Palestinian community. Israel is our ally because it is a liberal democracy committed to the rule of law, bound by laws of war and committed to the protection of human rights and security for all people," Ruskin was further quoted as saying by PTI.

Calling the Hamas’ assault the worst attack against the Jews since the Holocaust, Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar said there is bipartisan support for Israel.

"We are going to support Israel in every possible way to ensure that Israel is able to fight these terrorists and eliminate Hamas entirely. We cannot live through another such horror and such an attack on civilians, on people, women, men, babies.., 40 babies being headed," he said.
