'India Under Leadership Of PM Modi Gave Us Breath Of Life': Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe
After months of economic and political turmoil, Ranil Wickremesinghe who was elected as the new Sri Lankan President last month, will inaugurate the new session of Parliament today.
New Delhi: Newly-elected Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Wednesday thanked the Government of India and Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi for providing assistance to crisis-hit Sri Lanka, reported news agency ANI. "I wish to specially mention the assistance provided by India, our closest neighbour, in our efforts for economic revitalisation," Wickremesinghe told the news agency. The Sri Lankan President conveyed his gratitude on behlaf of the people of the island nation to PM Modi, Government of India, and the people of India.
"Govt of India under the leadership of PM Modi has given us a breath of life. On behalf of my people & that of my own, I convey our gratitude to PM Modi, Govt & the people of India," said the Sri Lankan President.
