Ex-Miss Switzerland Finalist Murdered By Husband, Body Parts ‘Pureed’ In Blender, Dissolved In Acid: Reports
Kristina Joksimovic Murder: The husband claims self-defense, but medical reports contradict his claims. The court denied his appeal for release, citing mental illness and cold-blooded actions.
A former Miss Switzerland finalist, Kristina Joksimovic, was allegedly strangled, dismembered, and then “pureed” in a blender by her husband in Binningen, near Basel, Switzerland. Later, the 38-year-old dismembered body was dissolved in acid to cover the crime. The horrific murder was uncovered in February when dismembered remains of Joksimovic were found. Investigators quickly concluded that she had been strangled before being mutilated. Her husband, identified as "Thomas" in the media, has confessed to the killing.
According to Swiss news outlet FM1 Today, Thomas used a jigsaw, knife, and garden shears to chop up his wife's body, then attempted to dissolve her remains in a chemical solution. Authorities were left dismayed by the brutality of the crime.
Kristina Joksimovic Murder: Husband Claims He Acted In Self-Defence
As per a report of BZ Basel, Thomas who is 41 years old, claimed that he acted in self-defence after Kristina allegedly attacked him with a knife and that he dismembered her in a panic in their laundry room.
However, according to FM1 Today, medical reports contradict his claims, with a forensic report confirming that Joksimovic died from strangulation.
The Federal Court in Lausanne denied Thomas' appeal for release, citing "concrete signs of mental illness" and his "cold-blooded" actions after the murder. Investigators also noted that Thomas exhibited "sadistic-sociopathic traits" and showed no remorse throughout the ordeal.
Kristina and Thomas had been married since 2017, and their social media portrayed an affluent, happy life, with photos from recent trips just weeks before the incident. However, a friend revealed that their marriage had been in crisis for months. Police had reportedly been called to their home previously for domestic violence incidents, suggesting underlying issues in their relationship.
The body of Kristina was discovered by a third party, leading to Thomas' arrest the next day. He remains in custody as authorities continue investigating the gruesome crime, which has left Switzerland in shock and raised questions about what led to such a tragic end for the couple.
