New Delhi: Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, who has put on hold his plan to buy Twitter, on Thursday said that political attacks on him will “escalate drastically” in coming months.
“Political attacks on me will escalate dramatically in coming months,” Musk said in a tweet.
A day before the Tesla chief, in a Twitter poll had questioned whether over 95 percent of daily users on the microblogging site are real, unique humans. “Twitter claims that >95% of daily active users are real, unique humans. Does anyone have that experience?” he had tweeted.
On Friday, Musk had tweeted that he had temporarily put his plan on hold to buy Twitter, as he tried to ascertain the number of fake accounts on the social media platform. He said that he will go forward with the deal only if the spam profiles on the microblogging sites account for less than 5 percent of the total accounts.
"20% fake/spam accounts, while 4 times what Twitter claims, could be *much* higher. My offer was based on Twitter’s SEC filings being accurate. Yesterday, Twitter’s CEO publicly refused to show proof of <5%. This deal cannot move forward until he does," Musk had stated in a tweet.
The Tesla chief also mocked Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal who had posted a series of tweets explaining Twitter Inc’s effort to fight bots and how the platform has consistently estimated that less than 5 percent of Twitter accounts are fake.
