Former US President Donald Trump has pledged that he will lock up his political enemies if he is voted to be the President of the United States again. During an interview on Tuesday, CEO of Blaze Media Glenn Beck talked about Trump's famous campaign vow to 'lock up' Hillary Clinton, his primary opponent in the 2016 US Presidential Election. Beck asked Trump whether he regrets not locking up Clinton. He also asked whether he would lock up other opponents if he got elected as the President again. Trump responded by saying, “You have no choice because they’re doing it to us,” reported The Guardian.
The former US President has always been vocal in supporting the chants of 'lock her up'. However, he himself remains in significant danger of being jailed now over multiple allegations. Trump faces four indictments and 91 criminal charges related to election subversion, hush-money payments to an adult film star, and retention of classified information. Trump has denied these wrongdoings and claimed to be a victim of political persecution.

Earlier this month, US-based political news media outlet Politico calculated that Donald Trump faces a maximum sentence of 641 years. Conspiracy charges and 13 racketeering charges were also added, after which US business magazine Forbes reported that the maximum prison sentence for Trump can now go up to 717 years. However, both media outlets said that if Trump gets convicted then it is highly unlikely that he will receive the maximum sentence. They also said that a conviction wouldn't bar Trump from contesting the President's chair or being elected either.
According to The Guardian, Trump enjoys more popularity than nine other Republican candidates who are seeking their party's nomination to contest against Joe Biden in 2024. The US Presidential election is slated to be held on November 5 next year.
