On Wednesday, the world looked at some hopeful visuals coming from America as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took the oath to take over the reins of the US federal government. Social media was also abuzz to bid Donald Trump adieu with his exit from the White House.


Even though the outgoing President did not attend his successor's inaugural ceremony, he did leave a note for him following one of the two modern traditions.


Talking about the same, Joe Biden told the media that "The President wrote a very generous letter. Because it was private, I will not talk about it until I talk to him, but it was generous".


While the contents of the letter remain unknown, Twitter users took over the opportunity to roast Donald Trump with their take on what he would have written for Biden.

Before leaving the White House, outgoing presidents write their successors a letter and leave it for them on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. Talking to CNN, a senior Trump aide described the letter as a "personal note" that prays for the success of America and the new administration to care for the country.


Meanwhile, the letters written by the previous presidents are also being widely shared on social media.
