New Delhi: India on Friday conveyed to the Quad partners that New Delhi is open to supplying Covid-19 vaccines, including Covovax and Corbevax, manufactured in the country under the vaccine partnership.


CNNNews18 reported the people familiar with the developments as saying.


External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar participated in the fourth Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Melbourne along with the Foreign Ministers of Australia, Japan and the United States.

Jaishankar during the meeting emphasized there is a need to undertake collective efforts to address global health security in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.


“As pandemic continues to impact us, we have undertaken collective efforts to address global health security, Quad vaccine initiative and our collective vaccine delivery. These have been very crucial for countries in Indo-Pacific to meet these challenges,” he said during the meeting, ANI reported.


Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne said Quad is partnership committed to openness, transparency and practical cooperation to support regional recovery in face of Covid-19 and regional security.


“It's that what the four democracies can bring to support priorities of Indo-Pacific partners,” he added.


US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on his part highlighted the progress towards the goal of producing one billion doses of Covid-19 vaccines by the end of 2022.


“Today's meeting is about building on progress. One is ending COVID-19 pandemic together. We are making progress towards our goal of producing 1 billion doses of vaccines by the end of 2022 in addition,” he said at the meeting, ANI reported.
