New Delhi: A Facebook post of UK Police searching for a theft suspect, who was a lookalike of F.R.I.E.N.D.S actor David Schwimmer, went so viral that it literally broke the internet and David actually had to respond to it. UK police on Wednesday posted a grocery store theft suspect’s picture seeking people’s help to recognise him, but the suspect bore stark similarity to David Schwimmer the actor who played Ross Geller in the popular sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S . Fans of the series flooded the social media with jokes from it and eventually, police had to reply that they have confirmed that David was in New York at that time. However, adding to the ongoing drama, David Schwimmer himself posted a video where he jocularly protested his innocence.
David, who is remembered as Ross by many ardent fans, wrote in the tweet: “Officers, I swear it wasn't me. As you can see, I was in New York. To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation. #itwasntme”.
In the video he can be seen wearing a similar dress as the suspect and sneaking out of a grocery store carrying cans of drinks, just like the suspect in the picture.
