Afghanistan: Taliban Captures 3 More Provincial Capitals Taluqan, Kunduz & Sar-e-Pul
Since the US decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan, there has been a takeover by the Taliban over a lot of territories in the country.
Kabul: Amid withdrawal of the US troops, the Taliban captured Takhar province’s capital Taluqan city on Sunday.
“Key areas in Takhar province's capital Taluqan city, including the central roundabout, fell to the Taliban today," TOLO News quoted sources as saying.
Since the US decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan, there has been a takeover by the Taliban over a lot of territories in the country.
The Taliban had earlier on Sunday captured two more provincial capitals - Kunduz and Sar-e-Pul - as they gained ground in their fight to take over Afghanistan’s cities after seizing much of the countryside in recent months.

Earlier on Saturday, the US B-52 bombers targeted positions of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
“Taliban’s gathering was targeted by B-52 in Shebergan city, Jawzjan province today evening at 6:30 pm. The terrorists have suffered heavy casualties as a result of US Air Forces,” Afghan Defence Ministry's official Fawad Aman tweeted.
The US had earlier on Saturday asked its citizens to leave Afghanistan as the Taliban intensified its attack.
"The US urges its citizens to leave Afghanistan immediately using available commercial flight options. Given the security conditions and reduced staffing, the Embassy's ability to assist US citizens in Afghanistan is extremely limited even within Kabul," the US Embassy in Kabul said in a statement.
The Taliban has been employing violence to make rapid advances across Afghanistan in a bid to gain control after the United States began withdrawing its troops from the country on May 1.
