26-Year-Old Indian-Origin Doctor Dies In Plane Crash In UAE: Report

Two individuals, an Indian-origin doctor and a Pakistani female pilot, died in a light aircraft crash off the coast of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

An Indian-origin doctor along with a Pakistani pilot were among two killed in a light aircraft crash in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

A report from Khaleej Times states that 26-year-old Sulaymaan Al Majid, and a Pakistani woman pilot (26) died after the aircraft that took off from the Jazirah Aviation Club reportedly crashed off the coast of UAE’s Ras Al Khaimah. The incident took place on Sunday.

As per a report from Geo TV, the Paksitani woman has been identified as Frianza Parveen. Sulaymaan Al Majid was co-piloting the aircraft with a 26-year-old Pakistani woman.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has confirmed the news of the aircraft crash. The crash happened shortly after takeoff at 2 pm near the Cove Rotana Hotel. It added that relevant authorities are trying to determine the reason of the plane crash and the investigations are underway.

“Initial reports suggest the glider lost radio contact and later attempted an emergency landing. Despite resuscitation efforts, both occupants succumbed to their injuries," the UAE's aviation authority said as reported by AFP.

Sulaymaan's family, including his father, mother, and younger brother were present at the aviation club to watch the flight. The Khaleej Times reported that Sulaymaan’s younger brother was scheduled to take the ride after him. Sulaymaan, born and raised in UAE, had hired the aircraft for a sightseeing experience with his family.

The family got to know about Sulaymaan's death shortly after 4:30 pm.

"We were looking forward to the New Year as a family, planning to celebrate together. Instead, our lives have been shattered. It feels like time has stopped for us. Sulaymaan was the light of our lives, and we don't know how to move forward without him," Sulaymaan's father, Majid Mukarram, was quoted as saying by the Khaleej Times.

As per his LinkedIn profile, Dr. Sulaymaan Al Majid was a clinical fellow at the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust in the United Kingdom.
