World Accreditation Day 2022: World Accreditation Day (WAD) is celebrated on June 9 every year. WAD has been established by the joint efforts of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). First World Accreditation Day was celebrated in the year 2010 with the “Global Acceptance”.
Significance Of World Accreditation Day
The significance of WAD is to promote the role of accreditation in trade and the economy. The day is celebrated to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation activities.
WAD focuses on supporting United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It provides solutions to implement, estimate and monitor the objectives of the SDGs and provides support to achieve them.
"Accreditation, alongside other quality infrastructure tools including metrology, standardisation, conformity assessment and market surveillance, can support the shift to a circular economy and more sustainable forms of production," mentioned International Accreditation Forum.
Theme Of World Accreditation Day 2022
The theme for WAD 2022 is Accreditation: Sustainability in Economic Growth and the Environment.
IAF and ILAC have requested people to support their mission and to celebrate the day with them by joining the events online using the hashtag #WAD2022.
Many other organisations have joined forces with IAF and ILAC and now it’s our turn to contribute to the SDGs. It’s our turn to make a change.
