New Delhi: The Odisha Fire Service and Forest Department Officials successfully rescued a leopard who had fallen into a deep well at Rairakhol in Odisha’s Sambalpur district. In a 58-seconds footage shared by the official Twitter handle of Odisha Fire Services, Home Guards & Civil Defence, the leopard could be seen trapped inside the well which was filled with water.
After a few seconds, the leopard — with the help of a ladder placed by the officials inside the well — climbed up the well and ran free as it touched the land surface.

As per ABP News sources, the leopard had fallen into the well last night which came to the notice of the villagers after they heard its growls. The villagers then informed the local police and Charmal range office. Upon receiving the information the range staff launched a rescue operation with the help of police and fire personnel.
The joint effort by the officials was later praised by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also.
“Commend the swift response of Odisha Fire Services, Home Guards and Civil Defence personnel and officials of Forest and Environment Department of Odisha who successfully rescued a leopard from a deep well in Rairakhol in Sambalpur district,” tweeted Patanik.
“Appreciation for the timely operation which safely rescued the leopard,” he added.
