Weather Update, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that light to heavy rain may occur in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka today i.e. on Friday. In a bulletin issued for November 19, the Meteorological Department said, "Light to moderate rain at most places over North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and South Interior Karnataka with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places."


In a recent update, the IMD wrote, "The Depression lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of 19th November 2021, over north coastal Tamil Nadu and neighbourhood, near Lat. 12.5°N and Long. 80.0°E, about 60 km south-southwest of Chennai and 60 km north- northeast of Puducherry. To weaken into a WML during next 12 hours."














The bulletin said that there may be heavy rains in North Interior Karnataka also." The Meteorological Department said that this could result in water-logging in the roads and low-lying areas and closure of underpasses mainly in the urban areas of the above areas. Fall. Heavy rains sometimes result in reduced visibility, in these areas as well. There is a possibility of damage to weak structures, as well as incidents of landslides/mudslides."






The IMD said that wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph was observed over southwest and adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal along and off Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and south Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next 12 hours. It can reach up to 65 kmph. At the same time, the condition of the sea will also be from bad to very bad. However, there will be a gradual improvement after this. In such a situation, fishermen have been instructed not to go inside the sea.


Earlier, the Meteorological Department had said in a press release issued on Wednesday, "During the next 4 days, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall at isolated places with light to moderate rain at most places over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in Kerala and Mahe during the next 3 days and Coastal Karnataka during the next 2 days.
