Mumbai: Even as the monsoons returned in full fury to the financial capital Mumbai, two kids of a policeman can be seen braving the flood situation inside their inundated house and keeping alive their spirit while taking a jibe at the administration for mismanagement of the situation.


In a viral video, two children of a policeman can be seen sitting on a bed in their flooded house and rowing the bed in a symbolic gesture using police ‘lathis’. It also shows the mismanagement of the monsoon situation by the administration which wrecked havoc in the city.

Taking a jibe at the appalling situation during the monsoon every year, the children are seen holding the police lathis and dancing away their woes to a famous Koli song.



The house can be seen flooded with almost knee-deep water which gushed inside their homes due to incessant rains in the city. However, the childern are happily singing together and having a lighter moment by showing as if they are rowing a boat amid the difficulty. It once again shows the resilience of Mumbaikars and their spirit in the face of adversity.     


The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Mumbai as heavy rains lashed the city throughout Sunday. Around 32 people lost their lives and six were injured in five separate rain-related incidents across the city. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray chaired a high-level meeting and asked civic officials along with rescue agencies to be alert and rush to the spot in case any mishap is reported in the city.


There were power outages and water cuts as a result of the disruption caused by the incessant rain. Local train services were also disrupted between Thane, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Kanjurmarg and Chunabhatti due to heavy rainfall.
