Table salt

Black salt
Black salt is also called 'kala namak' locally. Spices, charcoal, seeds and tree bark are used in this variant of salt. It helps in relieving flatulence, constipation, acidity and abdominal cramps.
Rock salt
Rock salt, locally known as 'sendha namak', is mostly used for worship purpose. Rock salt is also called Himalayan pink salt. The consumption of rock salt maintains a healthy blood sugar level and reduces muscle pains.
Sea salt
Sea salt does not dissolve very easily. It has a grainy texture that stays like this for a long time. The reason behind its increasing demand is believed to be that it is low in sodium and high in iodine.
Smoked salt
Smoked salt is placed on a wooden layer and placed at very low temperatures to get smokey flavours and aroma. This salt is used in dishes that require smoked flavors.
