NEW DELHI: A video of an NCC girl cadet from Jammu and Kashmir challenging militants and urging the youth of the state to shun stone pelting and slogans of 'azaadi' has gone viral on social media.
Aneesa, a student of the government women's degree college in Anantnag, in clip said she was the only woman representing her college at the camp.
"Many others wanted to join the camp but were were not allowed by their parents from doing so because of the troubled situation in south Kashmir," she said.
Asking young Kashmiris to stay away from stone pelting and raising pro azadi slogans, she said, "If you want azadi (freedom), the real azadi is here. The life is here".
"I want to ask all the girls to come forward. It's the Indian army that is going you bring life within you," she added.
She urged Kashmiris not to go "towards bad things like protests, stone pelting or getting involved in sloganeering for azadi".
Over 5o00 cadets from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh including a good number of women are taking part in the NCC camp for selection to the Jammu and Kashmir Directorate Thal Sainik team.
