UM motorcycles to launch Renegade Classic and Hypersport in India

New Delhi: United Motors (Um) Motorcycles has opened their first dealership in Mumbai in order to sell their two products, the Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S. The company has many products in their pipeline which they will go to be introduced soon. Moreover, the manufacturer is also planning to launch the Renegade Classic in 2017 and the adventure tourer as well. This product will definitely come with fuel-injection as well as ABS. Mr Mishra, director of UM Motorcycles has conveyed that the company is also planning to take bookings of the Renegade Classic by January next year, while customers can expect the delivery at the start of 2018. The company has scheduled the price for the Renegade Classic is near about Rs. 1.61 lakh while, the Sport S will come with a price-tag of Rs. 1.51 lakh. Till now, Um has managed to achieve 70 per cent localization on its cruisers but the engine is still being imported. The company is aiming to achieve 100 localizations by next year. UM is currently focusing on the nascent adventure tourer segment and if everything will go well then the company is planning to make the official launch of the adventure tourer at the 2018 Auto Expo. The UM Hypersport is a very applauded model in the international market and it also possesses a 230cc single-cylinder engine which develops 15.7bhp and 17.7Nm of torque and it is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Some of the prominent features of the UM Hypersport are high ground clearance, long travel telescopic forks, high mounted exhaust, belly pan, raised mud guard and dual purpose tyres. The Royal Enfield Himalayan is the only real adventure tourer which is available within Rs. 2 lakhs and the UM motorcycles is now planning to cover this gap and hence, they have scheduled the price for the Hypersport is Rs. 1.30 lakhs. The American manufacturer has already had a presence in more than 30 countries including in Latin America. The company is planning to set its production on September onwards and simultaneously, they are also sketching their different activities in India as the company goes on to establish its strong presence in the Indian market.
