As the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu are approaching, the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has made big bets while unveiling their party's manifesto on Sunday evening.


Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami released the election manifesto in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and other senior leaders in the state capital.

In the manifesto, AIADMK stated that it will ask Centre to drop CAA. The ruling party also promised 150 days’ work under MGNREGA as opposed to 100 days, 'Amma' washing machines, solar gas stoves for every family, 6 gas cylinders per year free of cost for every family and at least one government job to every family in the state.


The party also claimed to provide waiver of educational loans, increase the maternity leave period to one year, hike in pension for the differently abled and increase in old age pension to Rs 2,000.


The party manifesto further proposed to change the name of Madras High Court to Tamil Nadu High Court. It also proposed to grant dual citizenship to Sri Lankan refugees and release the seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

The AIADMK will contest in Tamil Nadu in an alliance with the BJP. The AIADMK will contest elections in 177 seats, while its alliance partners will field candidates in 43 seats. Elections for the 234 seats of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly are to be held in a single phase on April 6. The results will be declared on 2 May.
