While AAP workers chanted slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party led Centre, Singh's 87-year-old father forbade them from using unparliamentary language.

His father, Dinesh Singh said that the federal agency found no basis for arresting Singh adding that he was apprehended because "they were told" to do so. "I said you (Sanjay Singh) to go, followers are with you."

Dinesh also said that their will be a "positive result" of this action against his son in the form of BJP being unseated from the power.

The AAP MP's wife, Anita Singh said that the ED officials misbehaved and claimed that her husband was arrested in a fake case.

"They questioned and searched the house, computer, and documents but did not find anything. There was pressure upon them (ED officials) to arrest him and they arrested him. They (ED) did not give us any reason. We all are with him. He has been arrested in a fake case," she said while speaking to reporters.
