New Delhi: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to New Delhi on 31 March, said the Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday.
As reported by news agency ANI, "Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to New Delhi on 31 March -1 April 2022".
This will be Russia's highest-level visit to India since Moscow launched its military offensive against Ukraine on February 24.
In the last few weeks, a number of high-ranking personalities have visited India, including Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, US Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland and the Foreign Ministers of Austria and Greece.

Lavrov's visit to India matches that of US Deputy National Security Adviser Daleep Singh and British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss.
Truss will visit India on Thursday while Singh is visiting India from March 30-31.
German Foreign and Security Policy Advisor Jens Plotner is visiting India on Wednesday.
According to the reports, the payment system for India's purchase of crude oil and military equipment from Russia is likely to be discussed.
Western sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine have made it difficult to pay. Now both the parties are considering activating the rupee-ruble payment system.
