New Delhi: As the war between Russia and Ukraine enters its seventh day on Wednesday, India's Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia is in Romania in an operation to rescue Indians stranded in war-torn country Ukraine, where he interacted with Indian students at Henri Coanda International Airport in the capital Bucharest.
In a video shared by news agency ANI on social media platform Twitter, Scindia can be seen sending an Indian citizen Srishti to the front row of the plane as she had a ligament tear and was stuck in Bucharest.
In view of the deepening crisis between Russia and Ukraine, the 'Operation Ganga' to rescue Indians trapped in Ukraine is still underway. Scindia arrived at Henri Konda International Airport in Bucharest (Romania) on Wednesday, where he interacted with Indian students. While talking to a student, he spoke in Marathi and asked about the student and his family members, asking him to meet the family members soon.
Amid the worsening situation in Ukraine, on Thursday (Feb 24), the Ukrainian authorities closed their country's airspace for passenger flights, due to which these flights were operated from Bucharest and Budapest to bring home the stranded Indians.

Helpline numbers have been issued by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs for Indian citizens and students stranded in Ukraine. These students are being brought to India via Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia. In such a situation, a helpdesk has been created by the Government of India for all the countries.
