New Delhi: Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov on Tuesday took on his Twitter handle and shared a picture of a truck loaded with terminals as Ukraine received Starlink satellite internet terminals from Elon Musk's SpaceX amid continuing attacks by Russia on Tuesday.
Sharing the picture, he wrote, "Starlink — here. Thanks, @elonmusk".
"You are most welcome," Musk tweeted in response.
Earlier, Mykhailo urged SpaceX founder Elon Musk to provide Starlink services to Ukraine.
"While you try to colonize Mars -- Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space -- Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people," tweeted Mykhailo earlier last week.
Musk had then tweeted, "Starlink service is now active in Ukraine," adding that more terminals are en route.
Communication takes place from one corner of the earth to another through the satellite. For this, terminals on the ground are necessary, which are the size of a pizza box. They contain antennae for radio waves. They are placed under the open sky for contact with the satellite. For example, just above the roof of the building.
Starlink operates a group of over 2000 satellites that aim to provide Internet access all over the Earth. The company on Friday launched 50 more Starlink satellites and many more are to be placed in Earth orbit.
The war between Russia and Ukraine is getting worse now. On Tuesday, the Russian military launched attacks targeting civilian sites, including Kyiv's TV tower and the main memorial to the Jewish genocide in Ukraine. Five people were killed and five others were injured in the attacks on the TV tower.
Moscow today said that it is ready to continue talks with Kyiv tonight, news agency AFP reported.
