New Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Sunday took a swipe at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his recent remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree and academic qualifications. He said, “one should not boast about his degree as it is now proven that some people continue to be illiterate even after going to IIT.” He further launched a scathing attack on him saying that degrees are only the signs of one’s expenses incurred on studies. However, Saxena added that real education is reflected in one’s behaviour.
His comments have come amid the ongoing controversy and political slugfest regarding PM Modi’s college degrees. Last week during a media interaction, Kejriwal said probably “PM Modi’s degree is fake.” He has been raising several such questions lover Modi’s education, for which he was even fined for Rs 25,000 by a court earlier.
Earlier, Kejriwal had also said, “Modi ji does not understand the importance of education.”
Just a few days ago, on April 7, Kejriwal shares a Tweet including jailed former Delhi deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s letter to the country from prison over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's degrees issue. In his hand-written letter, he said, less educated PM is very dangerous for the country.

Sisodia further said that 60,000 schools have been closed in the country in the last few years. He wrote in his letter, "It is necessary to have an educated Prime Minister for India's progress.”
The jailed AAP leader and former education minister said, "When the world is talking about Artificial Intelligence, it disheartens me to see the Prime Minister say that we can make tea and food from the polluted gas coming out of dirty drains... When the Prime Minister talks about how radars will not be able to detect jets in cloudy weather, he becomes a laughingstock for the whole world. Students in schools and colleges make fun of him.”
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday (April 3) also took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s academic qualifications. He said PM Modi should come forward and inform the people about his qualifications and degrees.
In his jibe, Raut took to Twitter and wrote the degree in Political Science is "historical and revolutionary". He added that PM Modi’s degree should be displayed at the entrance of the new parliament building to end all doubts over it.
