New Delhi, June 29: After major decisions have been taken to ease the tension over pending exams, last week, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, formerly known as Kerala Technological University, has now postponed its July 2020 examinations. It has been notified by the University on the website on Monday, that all B.Tech S8 examinations scheduled to start from July 1 stand postponed.

Although the notification didn't mention the reason for the delay, but it is understood that the exams are postponed in the wake of the rising cases.

The expected exams were to be conducted for S8 B.Tech course for regular and supplementary (including part-time) students. The notification said, “B.Tech S8 Regular and Supplementary Examinations (including part-time) scheduled from July 1st have been postponed.”

The timetable for the exams have been released on June 16 and the exams were scheduled to be conducted on June 1, June 3, and June 7. Earlier on June 28, the university had notified students asking them to fill a declaration of performa declaring if students are coming from the containment zones or who show flu-like symptoms.

Students are requested to keep a tab on the official website of the KTU, ktu.edu.in, for latest updates on the examination and any other information.

Meanwhile in Karnataka, the decision to re-open schools will be taken after July 5. "Parents have asked us to re-open schools after Aug/Sept. No online classes will be conducted for LKG&UKG students, schools should interact with students on phone twice a week," Karnataka Education Minister S Suresh Kumar told reporters on Monday.
