Nirmala Sitharaman pays visit to injured Shashi Tharoor at hospital; Congress MP says "touched by gesture"

Sharing a picture with Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who visited him at the hospital, Tharoor said he was touched by the gesture of Sitharam who took time from her hectic electioneering in Kerala to pay a visit to him.

Tharoor got injured in an accident on Monday while he was performing rituals at the Gandhari Amman temple, where he was made to sit on a weighing balance, when a heavy iron hook fell over his head.
Sharing a picture with Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who visited him at the hospital, Tharoor said he was touched by the gesture of Sitharam who took time from her hectic electioneering in Kerala to pay a visit to him.
He said his political opponent and CPI leader C Divakaran also called him to check upon his health.
New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, who  met with an accident in Thiruvananthpuram on Monday while performing a religious ritual, tweeted on Tuesday to inform that he was touched by the visits of his political rivals at the hospital, he is undergoing treatment. Sharing a picture with Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who visited him at the hospital, Tharoor said he was touched by the gesture of Sitharam who took time from her hectic electioneering in Kerala to pay a visit to him. "Touched by the gesture of @nsitharaman, who dropped by today morning to visit me in the hospital, amid her hectic electioneering in Kerala. Civility is a rare virtue in Indian politics - great to see her practice it by example!," Shashi Tharoor tweeted. He said his political opponent and CPI leader C Divakaran also called him to check upon his health. He tweeted: "Very gracious of my LDF rival C.Divakaran to call this morning to express concern about my well-being. Said he had spoken to the Hospital Superintendent to assure himself I would be ok. "Don't be demoralised", he added. I'm not: I'm more determined than ever to see this through!" Tharoor who is Congress’ Lok Sabha candidate from Thiruvananthapuram, got injured in an accident on Monday while he performing rituals at the Gandhari Amman temple, where he was made to sit on a weighing balance. Unfortunately, the chains of the balance broke and fell on his head. After his accident Tharoor tweeted: "A heavy iron hook fell on my head when a temple Thulabharam scale gave way. Lots of blood but no apparent other damage.
