National Conference leader and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah on Monday said that the country would be better if the citizens follow the principles of Mahatma Gandhi. Speaking to reporters in Srinagar on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti (birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi), he said it is unfortunate that the country is going opposite to the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi. Abdullah also said, “At times it feels that we remember Gandhi only when we visit abroad or when foreign leaders visit our country and visit Rajghat. But on the rest of the days, we not only forget but we go opposite to the path shown by Gandhi, reported news agency ANI on X.
