Nashik: 'Sniffer Spike' served with Nashik Police for 11 years before he retired on Friday. The Nashik Police gave him a special farewell as he had become a part of the family. Spike was trained for sniffing out explosives and for 11 years he worked tirelessly with the police.


Anil Deshmukh, Home Minister of Maharashtra, shared tweets thanking Spike for his service. He shared a video from the farewell and said "He was not just a canine but had become a part of police family. I salute him for his service towards the Nation!"

In the video Spike was sitting on the bonnet of a police car which was decorated with flowers and balloons, he had a garland around his neck and was slowly driven out while members of the police force were standing on either side of the way applauding for him. Spike was seen a member for the police family and that's way he was given such a grand farewell.
