In a highly tragic incident, at least eight workers were injured and rushed to the hospital after a massive fire broke out at a chemical factory in Hyderabad on Saturday. ALSO READ | Gujarat: Fire In Ahmedabad Textile Warehouse Claims 9 Lives; Owner Alleges Chemical Factory Was Run Illegally


As per the early reports, the incident happened at Vindhya Organics Pvt Ltd in Industrial Development Area, Bollaram of Hyderabad. Police sources told news agency ANI that "A solvent was kept for some reaction after which it caught fire."

The sources further informed that several people were injured while many are feared trapped. The injured ones have been shifted to the nearby hospital and a rescue operation has been launched.

Meanwhile, three fire engines were rushed to the spot as thick thick fumes were seen billowing after the explosion inside Vindhya Organics.

Last month in November, fire broke out in a textile warehouse in Ahmedabad claiming as many as 9 lives after a part of the building collapsed during the fire.

According to the head of the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Service, the explosion in the nearby chemical unit took place first and after that, the building of this textile warehouse collapsed and caught fire.
