New Delhi, May 28:  In a relief to scores of students enrolled in Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), the board will now give an average of marks obtained in other subjects for the Class 10 Geography paper, which didn’t take place due to Covid-19 induced lockdown.


The marks of the other five subjects would be now considered to draw an average score for the paper.

The exam was supposed to be held on March 23. Almost 1.7 million students had taken SSC exams in the state scheduled between March 3 and 23.

"Since the pending Geography paper was canceled, the board has decided to award SSC students an average of marks obtained in the written examination of other subjects," a circular stated.

The circular has mentioned that a similar rule will be applicable for the vocational subject exam for differently-abled students.

"An average of marks obtained in written, oral, practical and internal evaluation of other subjects will be awarded for the subject," stated the read as per Business Standard report.

Candidates, who have taken the exam are now eagerly waiting for their results to be declared. In order to get an update on the SSC examination results, you need to follow the official website - mahresult.nic.in. However, the board has not yet confirmed the date on which Maharashtra SSC result 2020 will be announced.

According to the daily news Mint, Maharashtra alone accounted for nearly 36 per cent of the country's total coronavirus caseload. The sate has so far seen 56,948 cases and the financial hub Mumbai has reported over 32,000 Covid-19 patients.
