Ahmedabad: Kunjal Patel, the businessman-turned-politician who contested from Ahmedabad's Dariapur constituency in the 2017 Gujarat Assembly Elections, have stagulated himself to death. KP Patel is known as the 'Golden Man' of Ahmedabad. His pictures of wearing a kilogram of gold has gone viral in the city.

After his death, a case was registered against his suicide at the Dariapur police station. The day before yesterday, it was reported that Kunjal, who was living in the Madhupura area of ​​Ahmedabad, had died at his home. police are investigating Kunjal's suicide. It is true that Kunjal's death has caused a stir across the state.

The police have registered a case of suicide, calling it a step taken out of desperation in the family property dispute. Police has searched his residence but no suicide note has been recovered. Police have also been interrogating friends, relatives and neighbours.

In his nomination, he stated that he had 45 tolas of gold. However, he told local reporters: "We have a total of 115 tolas of gold in our house.” He had two cars and assets worth Rs 49 lakh, he asserted while signing his candidature. People started noticing the golden man of the city and his Shiv Sena has got good advantage with Patel's image. But, Patel bit the dust as he only won 1,393 votes in that election.
