Maruti Suzuki Alto To Get A Make Over; Know More About New Design, Price And Launch Date

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 which is India’s most affordable and hence the best-selling car will soon get a makeover and is set to launch next year. The hatchback has been on India’s top-selling list for years and especially popular with budget-conscious families. Unlike earlier, the Indian markets are flooded with hatchbacks now and the rising competition has made the company rethink the design. The last time Alto had a redesign was when the company launched Gen-Alto in 2012. According to media reports, customers can expect several new changes from the upcoming model
The new 800 cc will replace Alto 800, the redesign will be more like a crossover, it is built on the same Heartect-K platform which also underpins the S-Presso.
The engine of the car will be the same 3-cylinder petrol engine of 796 cc, which is powering the current generation of Alto 800, the engine belts out 48 PS of maximum power along with 69 Nm of peak torque but it will have an automatic gearbox.
The car will also feature the latest version of Maruti Suzuki’s Smartplay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, power windows, LED DRLs, wheel caps, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors etc.
The new 800 cc car is estimated to be priced at Rs 3 – 3.5 lakh onwards. While the launch date is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to be released in 2021. Maruti Suzuki India Limited was formerly known as Maruti Udyog Limited was founded by the Government of India in 1981 but it was merged the Japanese car and motorcycle manufacturer Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1982.
