The Kia Sonet is a compact SUV falling in the ‘below 4m category’ so it will be competing with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV300 plus, Ford EcoSport and the recently updated Tata Nexon. The sleek SUV will come loaded with features such as a wide range of engines and an interior filled with technology including built-in e-sim.
According to media reports, Kia Sonet is expected to be in the Rs 7-12 lakh (ex-showroom) bracket.

The Sonet is quintessentially Kia with a tiger-nose mesh grille and headlamps with DRLs. From the front, it is similar to Seltos. The SUV also features big wheel arches and a rugged design. Compared to its rivals the Sonet also has bigger wheels. The connected tail-lamp all across the car with 'Kia' written at the rear of the car gives a premium look. This might provide an edge over its rivals from the same category.
Just like Seltos, the Sonet will have a 10.25-inch touchscreen plus UVO connected technology and Bose audio. The SUV will also come with three engine options- one diesel and two petrol ones including a turbo-petrol unit. All would be BS6 as by that time it would be compulsory. The company has also released a teaser video with the tagline 'Wild By Design'
The Kia Sonet will be the third product by the South Korean auto company to be launched in the Indian market.
