New Delhi: In a major relief to Malayalam actor Dileep, Kerala High Court on Monday granted anticipatory bail to him and other accused in the case of allegedly threatening the investigating officer, who was probing the 2017 actress assault case, as reported by ANI news agency.
The court also granted bail to other accused including Dileep's Brother, Brother-in-law, friends and driver, who were allegedly involved in the issue.
The actor was seeking anticipatory bail in a case against him for conspiring to kill the officer, who was probing the 2017 actress assault case. Actor Dileep is the eighth accused in the assault case, reports India Today.

The court has granted bail to the actor after putting some conditions such as Dileep must surrender his passport to the court, the actor should produce two sureties of Rs 1 lakh each, he should cooperate with the investigation, there would be stern action if any default.
Dileep on Saturday submitted a bail plea in the High Court that the prosecution has only director Balachandra Kumar's statement as proof against him. The actor also denied the claims by the prosecution that he threatened the officer investigating the issue in 2017. Meanwhile, the director went on to leak an audio clip in which Dileep allegedly asked his brother, Anoop, to commit murder.
The verdict was pronounced after several times the hearings were adjourned. At least four times, that is, on January 18, January 21, January 27 and February 2, the court has postponed the hearing of the bail plea for various reasons. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch personnel have interrogated Dileep and the other accused on January 23, 24 and 25 for 33 hours collectively, according to Matrubhumi.
