HP Landslide: KBC Participant And Doctor From Jaipur Shared Her Love For Nature Minutes Before Tragic Death. Check Her Last Tweet Here

New Delhi: A tragic incident took away the life of a nature lover from Jaipur Deepa Sharma, who was enjoying a trip in Himachal just ahead of her birthday this year. An Ayurvedic doctor Deepa Sharma, who also a participant in Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2013, was among the nine tourists who died  in a landslide in Sangla valley area of Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday afternoon. 

In her last tweet, which Deepa Sharma's posted minutes before the horrific incident, she wrote, “…standing at the last point of India where civilians are allowed.”

In her Twitter account Sharma described herself as ordinary human but unique who is evolving daily and also writes. The Twitter feed of the young doctor were filled with clicks from Himachal visit and the last picture shows her happily posing at Nagasti ITBP check-post at 12.59 PM. As per reports, multiple landslides took place near Basteri on Sangla-Chitkul road at 1.25 pm, just minutes after the doctor shared the pic on social media platform.

One of tweets from journalist Aditya Raj Kaul mentioned about her appearance in the game show Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2013. While expressing shock at the sudden death, Kaul said teh doctor had reached out to him recently and requested for his number for emergency during Covid-19. 

Several terrifying videos of the incident have surfaced showing large chunks of rocks breaking off a mountain top and rolling down into the valley. The nature's fury also led to a section of the bridge crumbling and falling into a river after a boulder hits it.

The landslides caused a bridge to collapse damaging vehicles. "Life is nothing without mother nature," the doctor posted in one of her earlier tweets.

In fact, several people expressed shock and condolences poured in for the doctor’s family, who lost her life in the incident. Deepa on her Twitter handle mentioned about planning to celebrate her birthday on 29th of this month being close to "nature, greenery and river".

Film director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri also took to Twitter to share her association with the doctor and expressed his grief. He tweeted, "She was always desperate to help people genuinely. Terrible loss at such a young age."

Poet politician Kumar Vishwas also shared his reaction on the sudden demise of the doctor.

 Officials monitoring the situation issued a stern warning for the tourists to avoid travels to risk-prone mountain valleys and also destinations close to the rivers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Jairam Thakur also expresed giref for the loss of lives in the accident. PM Modi announced an aid of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of those who died in the accident and Rs50,000 to the injured from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.
