New Delhi: In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh laid the foundation stone for the BrahMos Missiles production complex and the DRDO Lab.






BrahMos is a joint venture between India's DRDO and Russia's NPO Mashinostroyeniya that resulted in the formation of Brahmos Aerospace.


'This Will Increase The Employment In The State': Yogi Adityanath 


While addressing the event, UP CM Adityanath said, "A new BrahMos Missile production unit will be set up in Lucknow. This will increase employment in the state. New India is moving ahead fast in the defence sector."


India successfully test-fired the air model of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile earlier this month. It was dubbed a "significant milestone" in BrahMos development by the Defence Ministry.


'We Are Making BrahMos...So No Country In The World Dares To Look At Us With Evil Eye': Rajnath Singh


"We are not making BrahMos missiles to attack any country in the world. We want to make BrahMos so that India has such power that no country in the world dares to look at us with an evil eye," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said.


The missile gets its name from two rivers: India's Brahmaputra and Russia's Moskva.
