New Delhi: The temperature is likely to drop in the coming days as northwestern India is likely to face light to moderate rainfall between December 26 and 29. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a wet spell over northwest India between December 26 and 29, over central India between December 27 and 29, and over east India during December 28 and 29.
As per the IMD prediction, “A fresh Western Disturbance and its induced cyclonic circulation are very likely to affect northwest India from 26th, central India from 27th and East India from 28th December.”
According to the Met department, the Western Himalayan region is likely to experience light scattered to fairly widespread rain or snowfall from December 26 to 29.
It also predicted light to moderate rainfall over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi during the same days, over Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during December 27 to 29 with isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorm, likely on December 28.
The Met department also predicted light to moderate rainfall over Madhya Pradesh, north Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal between December 27 and 29. Some regions may experience isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms.
Similar conditions may prevail over eastern India over the next few days. Light to moderate rainfall over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal
Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during the next 5 days. Among these, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland & Manipur may face thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms in the next 24 hours.
The Met department also predicted that no cold wave condition or dense fog is likely over the next five days.
