New Delhi: Sunita Shukla, deputy chief of the BJP's city unit, has reacted angrily to 24-year-old Kshama Bindu's choice to marry herself on June 11 at the Harihareshwar temple in Vadodara, news agency ANI reported.
"I'm against the choice of venue, she'll not be allowed to marry herself in any temple. Such marriages are against Hinduism. This will reduce the population of Hindus. If anything goes against religion then no law will prevail," the BJP leader was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.

This comes after a former Union minister and Maharashtra Congress leader called the news of a lady wishing to marry herself "wokeness' on the verge of insanity. "Let's hope it stays far, far away from India," Milind Deora tweeted.
I have said it before — ‘wokeness’ borders on insanity.

Bindu described self-marriage as a pledge to herself since every woman want to be a bride but not a wife. Her sologamy will likewise be devoid of any legal ramifications.“I think women marrying themselves might seem incredibly threatening because it looks like we are saying men are irrelevant, but we are actually just saying that we matter," she said.
Who Is Kshama Bindu?
Kshama holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and is presently employed as a senior recruiting officer for a private organisation. Her parents are also engineers. Her father lives in South Africa, while her mother lives in Ahmedabad.
While most ladies dream about a groom who would ride in on a horse and carry them away, Kshama discovered her groom within herself. She loves herself so much that she doesn't want to marry anybody else. As a result, she chose to do the saat pheras by herself.
