New Delhi: The Toyota Corolla car, which was used in the gruesome killing of Punjabi singer and politician Sidhu Moosewala, belongs to the gangster Manpreet Singh Manna, who is lodged in Ferozepur jail. The disclosure was made by the parents of the gangster Manpreet Bhau who was nabbed by the police in Dehradun.
Manpreet Bhau has been charged with supplying automobiles to the perpetrators who murdered Moosewala. According to the police, Manpreet was not one of the assailants who opened fire on Moosewala's vehicle, killing him on the spot.
Manpreet Singh Manna is the cousin of Bhau. Manna is held in Ferozepur jail and was transferred to Mansa on Monday on production warrants for interrogation in the Moosewala murder case. Manna is in prison for the murder of another gangster, Kulbir Naruana.
Manpreet had 10 cases filed against him in Faridkot, Ropar, and Muktsar under the Arms Act, as well as abduction and murder. He was one of six persons stopped in Dehradun on Monday on their way back from Hemkund Sahib, a Sikh temple in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district. They were eventually transported to Punjab for questioning in connection with the murder of Moosewala.
Bhau's family is accusing police of roping him into the case, however, there are several cases of clashes and dispute already lodged against him.
Moosewala was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Punjab's Mansa district on Sunday, a day after the state government revoked his security protection.
According to authorities, Moosewala's murder looked to be vengeance for the death of teenage Akali leader Vicky Middukhera last year.
Shaganpreet, Moosewala's manager, was implicated in the murder of Middukhera. Shaganpreet, on the other hand, had gone to Australia, according to authorities.
Sunny, Anil Lath, and Bholu, all Haryana residents, were detained by the Delhi Police special cell in connection with the murder of Vicky Middukhera, and Shaganpreet was also named as an accused in the FIR.
