The Supreme Court in a major development recognised Right against the adverse effects of climate change as a Fundamental Right derived from Article 14 and 21 of the Indian Constitution. On Monday the top court rebuked the Karnataka government for playing with the future of children and stayed the results of Board exams for classes 5,8,9 & 11 in the state. The Delhi Chief Minister moved the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court rejected his petition seeking release from judicial custody and upheld his arrest in Delhi Liquor Policy case as legal.

The Supreme Court in a recent judgment said that the fundamental rights to life and equality guaranteed under Article 21 and 14 respectively of the Constitution are a source for 'right against the adverse effects of climate change.' The verdict was pertaining to the conflict of interest that arose from apex court's earlier guidelines to protect the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) from extinction vis a vis India's renewable energy expansion. 'Just A Piece Of Paper': Big Jolt To Ramdev, Patanjali As SC Refuses To Accept Apology In Misleading Advertisement Case
The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that it is not satisfied with the apology tendered by the Baba Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurved MD in the misleading advertisements case. The court said, "we decline to accept this. We consider it a wilful, deliberate disobedience of the undertaking." While pronouncing order today the court said that it is not inclined to accept the apology of the proposed contemnors Baba Ramdev and Patanjali MD Acharya Balakrishna. 'K Kavitha Not A Vulnerable Woman': Court Denies Bail On Grounds Of Concession For Women In PMLA
A Delhi court on Monday while denying BRS leader K Kavitha interim bail said that she cannot be entitled to discretion in her favour by virtue of her being a woman. The court ruled that she is a well placed and well educated woman and by no means can be called a "vulnerable woman." The court also ruled that the exam related anxiety of her child is not a valid reason for granting her bail. The court while denying her bail observed that the material placed before it by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) prima facie points towards her active involvement in commission of the alleged offences as also towards her deliberate act of causing destruction of evidence, besides attempting to influence witnesses of the case. Arvind Kejriwal Moves Supreme Court Against Delhi HC Order Upholding His Arrest As 'Legal'
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday moved Supreme Court against Delhi High Court order rejecting his plea challenging his arrest in Delhi's excise policy irregularities case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The Delhi High Court on Tuesday rejected a petition moved by Kejriwal challenging his arrest by ED on allegations of money laundering in connection to the now scrapped Delhi Liquor Policy. The court said ED was able to show enough documents including the statements of Hawala dealers which shows that money was sent in Goa elections. The Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned a verdict passed by it in 2021 that upheld an arbitral award of around Rs 8000 crores won by the Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited (DAMEPL, Reliance Infrastructure subsidiary) against the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
