The Supreme Court in a recent judgment said that the fundamental rights to life and equality guaranteed under Article 21 and 14 respectively of the Constitution are a source for 'right against the adverse effects of climate change.' The verdict was pertaining to the conflict of interest that arose from apex court's earlier guidelines to protect the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) from extinction vis a vis India's renewable energy expansion.
